Tengo una amiga que tiene el suelo de su casa destrozado. Al parecer, los que hicieron la obra no taparon el parquet y tiraron todos los escombros encima, por lo que no sólo le dañaron el barniz sino que le arañaron y rompieron muchas de las tablillas. Quiere cambiarlo, pero como siempre andamos cortos de presupuesto, quiere algo barato y fácil que pueda hacer ella misma. En este caso, la solución más barata puede ser pintar el suelo.

A friend of mine has her wooden floors absolutely torn apart. Some years ago when she was making her living room reno her tradies did not protect the floor and threw all the debris over it. So it became seriously damaged and even polishing them again there is no way to make them good looking. She is eager to change it but we are always short of budget so she is thinking about something cheap and easy to change it herself. Maybe the greater solution would be to paint the current wooden floor.

Pintar el suelo da miedo, la verdad. No sabes cómo resistirá la pintura los arañazos, cual será su aspecto general, si se ensuciará mucho… Además, si sale mal, lijarlo y decapar toda esa pintura nos puede salir por un pico. Pero hoy en día existen pinturas para suelos novedosas, mucho más resistentes a los roces y arañazos y fáciles de retirar.

Painting a wood floor sounds scary, I know. You are not really sure if the paint would resist new scratches, if it would look aged in some years, if it would demand high maintenance… And even worse: if all that job does not look good, you will have to begin again. But I think that nowadays there are great painting products specific for floorings, with great colors and very durable.
